Following the recent development of the COVID-19 and the assessments considered to be at risk by the Luxembourg Directorate of Health; the international tech gathering, ICT Spring (and the side events Space Forum, European Security Forum, Pitch Your Startup and Digital Supply Chain Summit), originally scheduled on May 12th & 13th, 2020 will be postponed to July 7th & 8th, 2020.

The organizers of international tech summit ICT Spring announce that this year's edition will be postponed to July 7th and 8th, 2020. Each year, since its creation in 2009, ICT spring brings together more than 5,000 ICT and digital experts from all around the world. The event was supposed to take place in a couple of months, on May 12th and 13th, but with the current spread of the COVID-19 ("Coronavirus") in various parts of the world and notably in Europe, this year's edition will be pushed back to this summer.

Lately, organizations all around the world have been cancelling or postponing events that bring together thousands of participants, to stop the transmission and impact of the COVID-19. As a reminder, Coronaviruses are described by the World Health Organization (WHO) as "a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV)". On March 7th, 2020, the global number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 had already surpassed 100,000. The WHO also recently reminded all countries and communities that the spread of this virus can be significantly slowed or even reversed through the implementation of robust containment and control activities.

"The wellbeing of our clients and participants is our priority. Each year, we welcome professionals from all around the world to promote Luxembourg and inspire our ever-growing community. We are compelled to postpone ICT Spring to make sure everybody can join in safe health conditions," explains Kamel Amroune, CEO of Farvest Group and co-founder of ICT Spring.

All admission tickets reserved for the event in May remain valid for the event in July.
